In the B2B Professional Services sector, digitization is no longer an optional choice, but an inevitable path to managing complexity, margins, and growth. In organizations based on projects, skills, and highly qualified resources, the role of the Finance function and the CFO takes on even greater strategic importance.
Digitization means, first and foremost, thoroughly understanding the processes that govern the entire project lifecycle: from planning to delivery, from cost control to revenue recognition. It is only by starting from this knowledge and working across the board with Operations, PMO, HR, and Management that it becomes possible to choose management systems that are truly consistent with the business model and the size of the organization.
In this context, the CFO evolves from being responsible for financial control to being a leader of change, often taking on the role of project leader in digital transformation programs. This is a key responsibility for ensuring governance, visibility, and economic sustainability in a business where every project is different but must be managed with the same discipline.
